Challenge

Cole-Parmer offers a line of Stuart® brand magnetic stirrers, hot plates, and hot plates stirrers. For this line of products, Cole-Parmer wanted to offer a product configuration experience that allowed shoppers to choose options such as different surface materials and colors. The company needed a product configurator capable of allowing nonlinear configuration so that shoppers could choose different options at any point during the configuration process, and that could support real-time pricing so that  when a specific change was made to a product where a configuration effect was added, pricing would automatically update in the shopping cart.

Solution

To configure its Stuart® brand products, Cole-Parmer chose Artifi Labs. Artifi’s configuration engine allows Cole-Parmer’s hotplates, stirrers, and hotplate stirrers to be configured in five different ways: type, interface, voltage, surface, and color. These configuration options can be selected in a non-linear path, allowing for over 3,000 product variants.
