Founded in 1994, Store Supply Warehouse is a premier distributor of store fixtures, general retail supplies and display cases. In addition to serving retail businesses, Store Supply also offers an array of products that are used for advertising, trade show displays, and garage organizations.
The customizable supply and fixture products that Store Supply offers encompass different product categories and each have a wide-range of customization options available. For example, custom paper bags have a number of different customization options that can change depending on prior customization options that were selected, such as bag type, handle, size and color. The customization options for paper bags are significantly different from those available for custom jewelry cards, display cases, etc., creating very complex rules and requirements.
At the time, Store Supply was using Adobe Scene7 for product configuration of its custom products. This configurator had a complex admin interface, and this paired with the number of custom products and options Store Supply offers, made utilizing the configurator very difficult for the company’s administrators.
The Adobe licensing was also a concern when managing its ecommerce. To more easily manage its multitude of customizable products and the many different customization options available for each, Store Supply needed a new product customization platform. A key requirement for this new platform was that it could integrate more easily with Store Supply’s core business systems and allow for real-time pricing based upon customization types applied.
